Red Seal History
In 1921, English-trained herbalist and naturopath William Theophyllus Anderton, opened a small shop selling herbal preparations in downtown Auckland, New Zealand. There, in his Symonds shop, he began to establish a company committed to his underlying philosophy – "that the human body can be prompted to heal itself using what nature has provided us and that the use of synthetic chemicals could actually be more harmful in the end.
From the founding of his company, which he called Red Seal, through to the ensuing 80 years, his product range became a household name in the country – becoming renowned for consistently producing quality remedies and preparations. Over the years, the company steadily built its reputation, garnering a prominence in natural health care that paved the way for the retailing of the products in apothecaries and general stores across New Zealand
Today, under the guidance of Managing Director, Rolf Hilke, Red Seal Natural Health Ltd. is regarded as one of New Zealand's most innovative, responsive natural health company. It continues to offer natural solutions for the achievement and maintenance of good health.
Having touched the lives of Kiwis for 85 years, Red Seal's growth has encouraged a push for expansion beyond New Zealand's borders. Since its successful entry into the Australian market twenty years ago, it has since broken ground in several other countries – including countries such as UK, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.
Backed by an impeccable history and committed to continued research and development, Red Seal is now poised to make a promising bid for entry into the larger international market.
